A fairly small outbreak of 22 tornadoes impacted the Southern United States on February 9. A few of these tornadoes were strong, with the most significant damage occurring in Georgia.

Numerous trees were snapped or uprooted. Several homes sustained minor shingle, soffit, and fascia damage.
EF2 SW of Eola to S of Mansura Evangeline, Avoyelles TBD 16.75 mi (26.96 km) 300 yd (270 m) 4 deaths - Tornado touched down a forested area in the extreme northeastern fringes of the Evangeline Parish before entering Avoyelles Parish. The tornado crossed over the I-49 before entering the town of Eola. 5 homes and 8 outbuildings lining Road 1176 experienced varying degrees of damage; including one well-built home that lost a portion of its roof, and a mobile home was rolled off its foundation. Continuing northeast, the tornado paralleled County Road 29 for one mile, inflicting damage to 15 additional homes lining the highway. Several businesses sustained heavy damage as the tornado passed southeast of Bunkie over State Roads 75 and 71, respectively. Among these were a chemical processing plant and a Slaughterhouse. The Kadn TV Channel 15 Stationwas narrowly avoided by the storm as it entered sparsely populated areas; 19 homes were damaged over the seven subsequent miles before the tornado dissipated in a cul-de-sac between County Roads 107 and 114.
Mississippi
EF2 NE of Brookhaven to NW of Wanilla Lincoln, Lawrence TBD 13.9 mi (22.37 km) 357 yd (326 m) Two homes were lightly damaged near the beginning of the tornado's path. As it tracked to the northeast through Lincoln County, it crossed the Mississippi Central Railroad at six different points, causing slight deformities in the rails at this sixth crossing point. In the same vicinity, a railroad crossing gate was leveled while a mobile home was pushed from its foundation and a abandoned barn was partially swept away. Crossing into Lawrence County, the tornado encountered no structures until it entered Sontag. There, fifteen homes and a grocery store sustained heavy damage along Sontag-Nola Road. Only one of these homes was a frame home, which had several collapsed external walls and a partial loss of its roof. Comparatively less damage was observed at an additional twelve homes lining Smith Ferry Road and Ras Case Road. The tornado dissipated in a nearby forested area shortly thereafter.
